Like Breath of the Wild, TotK spans a massive open world. We got to the trial and ended up with a party that just couldn’t. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a wide variety of optional missions in the form of both Side Quests and Side Adventures. The Stormblood series is somewhere between the two, though it seems to be falling more towards the wacky side with only a little of the seriousness. The only thing you have to worry about in HW are a few wild gazebos. I found the quest series for Heavensward to be somewhat darker and more real, though it’s also devoid of pretty much any combat whatsoever, unlike ARR, which has at least three trials buried in it. It’s, uh, not the one pictured above, though he really does have a natural aversion to pants. There are also bits of seasonal content that also draw from it on occasion, such as Godbert’s appearance last Christmas. The first one is pretty wacky and stupid, in my opinion, but in many ways, it’s needed in order to set up the later quests and stories in the series. You can use the Cannon to destroy the rubble by talking to the woman managing it. Destroy the rubble on the wall on the right side and take a picture of the Stela with your Camera. When does my goldsmith get a limit break? I’m waiting, Squenix. Go behind the room where you talked with Rotana. Still, I ultimately enjoyed it, though I’m not quite done yet. I’m easy to entertain and not averse to stupid comedy and even I had a hard time getting on board. Once you get past the sheer absurdity of it, though, it’s not a bad series of quests. It’s as though you’ve been cast into some alternate universe where the game’s normal rules of logic no longer apply. Secrets of Grindea A fantasy Action RPG, playable by yourself or in co-op with up to three friends Features an unrestricted skill system, fluid and challenging combat, and an engaging story. ![]() It’s such a large departure in theme and tone from the rest of the game that it comes as something of a shock. ![]() It really took a while for it to grow on me, to be honest. When I picked it back up I was on maybe the third one, still A Realm Reborn era content. I have neglected this quest series very heavily. As such, this post may well contain some spoilers, but most of the images are taken out of context and may not provide much in the way of spoilers. Regardless, I’ve spent some time to this weekend getting caught up on the episodic Hildebrand series of quests in FFXIV. So life isn’t the only thing where I’m working on getting side quests caught up. ![]()
